Fallout 3 oasis best choice

When I got outside there was an open slave revolt, and the slaves had all decided I was Ashur's man and were hostile. So I left Ashur's quarters without taking the baby. She could be said to be guilty by tolerance, but what else can she do? His wife, on the other hand, seems at worst benign. Ashur at least says he regrets the current order and wants to change it when things are no longer as desperate, but the fact that he tolerates the brutality of his subordinates makes him culpable. They are needlessly cruel and largely unsympathetic characters. On the one hand, the slavers are truly evil. I was supposed to kidnap a baby and deliver it to be ransomed back and exploited by people blind with (admittedly justifiable) hatred for its parents?

So in this play though I'm trying to be a (stealthsuited, sniping) paladin of the wastes.
